About The National Reproductive Health Conference (NRHC)

What is the NRHC?

The CTC-SRH celebrates our 11th annual National Reproductive Health Conference - the only national conference dedicated to Title X clinicians and sexual and reproductive health professionals. This year NRHC will be fully virtual, taking place September 11-13, 2023. This conference is a professional space for the nation’s Title X workforce to innovate, evaluate, and discover evidence-based training, technical assistance, and resources for sexual and reproductive health.

We are excited to announce the theme for the 2023 NRHC – Powered by Purpose: Inspiring Innovation in Sexual and Reproductive Health. This theme was inspired by the Title X community’s powerhouse of dedication through the purpose and meaning of doing this work, even with the many challenges and difficulties faced in this field. The theme also speaks to the need for innovative strategies, training, and language in this sexual and reproductive health climate. Powered by purpose indicates the efforts of advocacy in this field, engaging in equity work, providing greater access to services, and ensuring quality healthcare.

Announcement

We Have a New Name!

Founded as the National Clinical Training Center for Family Planning (NCTCFP) in 2006, we changed our name to the Clinical Training Center for Sexual and Reproductive Health (CTC-SRH) in 2023. We have been funded by the Office of Population Affairs at the Department of Health and Human Services since inception and remain the primary source of clinical training for those providing sexual and reproductive health care in federally-funded settings.

Having served the Title X network for nearly two decades, our team of clinical experts recognized that the term “family planning” falls short of describing the client-centered and inclusive sexual and reproductive health services we offer, especially in an increasingly urgent and rapidly shifting healthcare landscape.

The newly-renamed Clinical Training Center for Sexual and Reproductive Health (CTC-SRH) continues to provide evidence-based clinical training and resources to healthcare providers in Title X settings through increased healthcare quality, equity, and access.

Who should attend NHRC and what are some key topics for discussion in 2023?

The NRHC is open to all sexual and reproductive health professionals, with a specific focus on the Title X clinical workforce, which includes grantee clinical service providers (e.g. physicians, physician assistants, nurse practitioners, certified nurse midwives, expanded practice registered nurses) and public health service providers (registered nurses, public health nurses, licensed vocational or licensed practical nurses, certified nurse assistants, health educators, etc.).

Through our discussions about innovative technologies, evidence-based interventions, client-centered care, and inclusive training methods, we invite you to join us as we plan for the future of Title X clinicians and sexual and reproductive health professionals.

Why is NRHC 2023 fully virtual this year?

Following the 2022 in-person hybrid conference in San Francisco, the 2023 NRHC will be fully virtual, taking place September 11-13. The NRHC has provided in-person, virtual, and hybrid conferences over the past 15 years. With the exception of the COVID-19 pandemic years, the NRHC is alternately virtual and then in-person.

During the COVID-19 pandemic, the CTC-SRH pivoted the in-person NRHC conferences to virtual and included breaking news and best practices about the pandemic, telehealth, and infectious disease. This is the fourth fully virtual NRHC (2019, 2020, 2021, 2023) and we have progressively enhanced the conference experience to provide a robust learning environment while allowing for additional access by eliminating funding, travel, and clinical scheduling issues.
