Contraception 101

Learning Labs address specific topics of interest for providers who are new to Title X. This session was recorded on July 16, 2024.

This training aims to enhance the confidence and competency of healthcare professionals in the safe prescribing of hormonal and non-hormonal contraceptive methods, as well as using fertility awareness-based methods. The training includes a comprehensive review of the benefits and potential side effects, enabling new clinicians and their support staff to feel comfortable providing effective contraceptive services within the Title X setting.

Participants will be able to:

  • Discuss the effectiveness of contraceptive methods
  • List the 3 categories of contraceptive methods
  • Apply the US MEC and SPR for safe prescribing practices and initiation of each method
  • Apply strategies to provide client-centered contraceptive care in their practice

Title X Statutes and Regulations

Learning Labs address specific topics of interest for providers who are new to Title X. This session was recorded on June 24, 2024.

Participants will be able to:

  • Discuss current Title X statutes and regulations
  • Apply current Title X statutes to at least 3 case studies
  • Differentiate between "must," "can," and "should" services within the Title X statutes.

Before watching the Learning Lab, participants should complete pre-work, which consists of reviewing Title X resources. In this recorded 60-minute live learning lab, presenters reviewed the pre-work, answered questions or concerns, and discussed case studies to apply skills and information in a live setting with peers.

Billing and Coding Basics for Sexual and Reproductive Health Services

Learning Labs address specific topics of interest for providers who are new to Title X. This session was recorded on May 15, 2024.

Participants will be able to describe:

  • Relevant coding terminology, including CPT, ICD diagnosis, and modifier codes
  • Current criteria used to determine the level of E/M office visit code based on either the visit's complexity or time
  • Codes for common visits in Title X, including LARC services.

Before watching the Learning Lab, participants should complete pre-work, which consists of billing and coding resources. In this recorded 75-minute live learning lab, presenters reviewed the pre-work, answered questions or concerns, and discussed case studies to apply skills and information in a live setting with peers.

Understanding Ohio v. Becerra

The CTC-SRH talks with Robin Summers, JD senior counsel and vice president at the National Family Planning and Reproductive Health Association, about the recent federal ruling in Ohio v. Becerra. Robin interprets the current ruling for listeners and provides insight into what Title X providers and staff can anticipate next in the case.
